Aron is busy putting the finishing touches on his new middle grade graphic novel Speechless which is due out in spring 2025 from Scholastic’s Graphix imprint.

About Speechless: Middle school was supposed to be a fresh start for Mira, who struggles to speak in class even though she can speak at home without a problem. She didn’t used to have anxiety speaking--and she used to have friends. Now, her former best friend Chloe is her worst enemy, and Mira’s only solace is making videos for her secret stop-motion animation channel. But when Chloe’s mom has to travel for a family emergency, Mira is horrified to learn that her family has volunteered to let Chloe stay with them. When it feels like everything is going wrong, will Mira ever find her voice?

Friday, May 3, 5-8 PM Opening reception for MY TEACHER IS A WOLF: THE COMICS ART OF ARON NELS STEINKE: Aron’s solo art show at the Camas Public Library. The art will be up for the month of May, and Aron will be at the opening reception which will feature over 45 pieces of art made for the production of his graphic novels. The exhibit will cover art from his almost 20 year career in comics and more.

May 18, 2024: Aron will be at A Children’s Place bookstore in NE Portland to celebrate their 50th birthday! Check out their full author line up.

Aron will be exhibiting in Artist Alley at the 2024 Annual American Library Association Convention in San Diego June 28-July 1st.

Saturday, September 9, 2024: Aron will be a guest at the 2024 BIGFOOT KIDS’ BOOK FESTIVAL put on by Brick and Mortar Books in Redmond, WA. Redmond Town Center 10am-4pm.
